ADVOCACY

NTHC functions as a regional intermediary for affordable housing development through relationships with Community Housing Development Organizations, for-profit developers, local municipalities and state, local and federal governments.

As part of our mission, NTHC strives to bring together community-minded organizations to focus on the critical need for more affordable, working class housing production. These include:

  • Evaluating and taking positions on local, state and national housing issues that are relevant to today’s homeowners.
  • Focusing on broader issues such as how affordable, working class housing connects with healthcare, education, transportation and the economy.

The North Texas Housing Research and Advocacy Center (H-RAC) leverages relationships with the North Texas Central Council of Governments, Vision North Texas, collegiate-level academic research institutions, the Urban Land Institute, and others in order to address North Texas’ housing challenges over the next four decades.

The NTHC also offers an educational Housing Summit that guides and educates the public and private sectors on how housing affects all aspects of a community including healthcare, transportation, education and crime.
