Community Education
NTHC offers a forum for discussing and evaluating local, state and federal housing policy and program priorities on affordable, working class housing. NTHC also hosts luncheon seminars that provide networking opportunities and affordable, working class housing information on funding resources as well as key community development issues.
Advocacy
As part of our mission, NTHC strives to bring together community-minded organizations to focus on the critical need for more affordable, working class housing production. These include:
- Evaluating and taking positions on local, state and national housing issues that are relevant to today’s homeowners.
- Focusing on broader issues such as how affordable, working class housing connects with healthcare, education, transportation and the economy.
Financial Education
Financial Education includes credit counseling, debt reduction, and budgeting. Clients have the use of a computer lab to contact creditors and challenge erroneous information on the credit report by accessing one of thirty letters on the NTHC network to substantiate error claim. This approach empowers individuals by giving them the tools to resolve errors while simultaneously receiving education on correct methodology.
